Southeastern hosts Louisiana Contractors Accreditation Institute classes

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Small Business Development Center will host a series of classes this fall with the Louisiana Contractors Accreditation Institute.

     LCAI is funded through Louisiana Economic Development and assists small and emerging construction businesses.

     Applications are now being accepted for the classes, which will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8 p.m., from Oct. 30-Dec. 13. Classes will not be held on Nov. 20 and 22.

     Participants in the classes, taught by industry leaders, will learn about construction management and how to prepare for the General Contractors State Licensing Exam. LCAI sessions will be transmitted by compressed satellite video to Hammond and other locations around the state.

     Topics will include bid processes, contract management, estimating, equipment and business management, scheduling, occupational safety, risk management, financial management, bonding/access to capital, certifications, entrepreneurship training, and Louisiana Contractor Licensing Exam Review.
