Southeastern to offer Notary Public review class Oct. 9-Nov. 27

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Division of Continuing Education and Special Activities will present a non-credit course to analyze the powers, duties and responsibilities of the Louisiana Notary Public Oct. 9-Nov. 27.

     The class will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in room 34 of Southeastern’s Garrett Hall.

     Instructor Douglas T. Curet, J.D., will help prepare notarial candidates for the examination given by the Parish Notarial Commission. Individuals in financial, real estate, businesses, and paralegal professions will also benefit from the course.

     Topics include mortgages, conveyances, leases, contracts, servitudes, oil, gas and mineral rights, legal descriptions, promissory notes and UCC finance agreements to successions, wills and trusts and Louisiana community property regime.
