Southeastern to close Tuesday, Sept. 2

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University will cancel classes and events and close its main campus and off-site locations on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

     Southeastern will also close the Pennington Student Activity Center over the weekend for hurricane preparations.

     Based on current information, normal operations and classes expected to resume on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

     University officials said they are monitoring the progress of Hurricane Gustav and recognize that travel by students, faculty and staff may be impacted due to extensive emergency operations across the region.

     Regular updates will be posted in the media and on the Southeastern Web site, www.selu.edu. The university radio station, KSLU 90.9FM, which can also be heard over Southeastern’s Web site, will also broadcast regular updates on the university’s status.
