SBDC, Hammond Chamber offer free workshops on funding for research, patents

     HAMMONDThe Southeastern Louisiana University Small Business Development Center, along with the Hammond Chamber of Commerce and other sponsors, will host two free seminars on funding opportunities for innovative research and patents.

      The seminars will be held June 24 at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center, 1514 Martens Drive in Hammond.

      "Small Business Innovation Research Grants" will be held 8:30-11:30 a.m. Participants will learn how to access more than $2 billion available through federal research and development programs. 

      At "Intellectual Property/Patents," scheduled from 1-4 p.m., professionals will answer questions and discuss general patent and intellectual property protection information for technology commercialization.
