HAMMOND – With priority registration for both the summer and fall 2008 terms scheduled March 31-April 4, Southeastern Louisiana University is reminding current students to take care of advising requirements before leaving campus for the March 21-28 Spring Break.

Students should check with their academic departments for advising schedules or to make advising appointments now, said Stephen Soutullo, assistant vice president for enrollment management. Students are also being encouraged through e-mails and postings on Southeastern’s Web site to check their LeoNet accounts for their priority registration appointments.

While summer registration was originally scheduled immediately before and fall registration immediately after Spring Break, plans for a major upgrade of the university’s administrative computing systems prompted the university to combine the two sign-up sessions.

The updated spring 2008 academic calendar is available online at www.selu.edu/admin/rec_reg/calendar.

“Southeastern’s upgrade of our administrative computing systems to PeopleSoft 9.0 Campus Solutions will take place during the week of Spring Break,” Soutullo said. “It makes more sense for students to register for both semesters in the ‘new’ system.”
