HAMMOND Southeastern Louisiana University’s Business Research Center will unveil the results of the Northshore Commerce Study at the Northshore Business Conference in Slidell on Sept. 25.

The study, according to Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Small Business Development Center, analyzes the most current demographics of the region and provides insight into the estimated $8.3 billion of annual consumer spending and $1.2 billion of loss in retail profits, illuminating areas of opportunity for both new and existing businesses.

“The north shore region of Louisiana is the fastest growing and most dynamic area of Louisiana,” said Southeastern Interim President John L. Crain. “With the recent influx of new residents and businesses, several corporate relocations into the area, and new workforce development and smart growth initiatives being implemented across the region, the north shore is poised for continued growth and development.”

The Northshore Business Conference will feature national speakers on topics such as increasing profits and sales, growing business and finding capital, and streamlining operations.

Registration for the conference is $30 and includes breakfast and lunch. Registration is available online at selu.edu/sbdc or at 985-549-3831.
