SBDC hosts north shore sales/networking classes

     HAMMOND -- The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University and regional partners are hosting a series of networking seminars throughout the north shore.

     “Turning Networking into Net Worth” will provide small business owners with tips and tools necessary to make networking worthwhile and profitable, said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC. 

     Pre-registration is preferred. Seminar dates, locations, and regional partners are:

     Thursday, April 16 – Louisiana Technical College, Sullivan campus, Bogalusa, 5-7 p.m.; sponsored by Bogalusa Chamber of Commerce.

     Friday, April 17 – St. Tammany Parish Library Business Resource Center, Mandeville, 9-11 a.m.; sponsored by St. Tammany Parish Library Business Resource Center.

     Tuesday, April 21 – Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center, Walker, 9-11 a.m.; sponsored by Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce.

     Tuesday, April 28 – East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce board room, Slidell, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; sponsored by East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce.

     Wednesday, April 29 – Southeast Louisiana Business Center, Hammond, 9-11 a.m.; sponsored by Hammond Chamber of Commerce.

     Topics will include the importance of networking, maximizing memberships in Chambers of Commerce and other organizations, and understanding the networking process.

     The seminars will be presented by Tiffanie Z. Lyon of Lyon Sales Institute. Lyon has more than 17 years of sales experience within several B2B (business-to-business) industries. A sought-after speaker, she is author of “Sales is NOT a Dirty Word:  THE Inspirational Selling Guide for Non-traditional Salespeople.”
