SBDC hosts sales workshops in May

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Small Business Development Center will host a series of free sales seminars in conjunction with several regional partners throughout May.

     The seminar series titled “Mind Shifts to Effective Selling” will educate small business owners about basic selling techniques that can be easily adopted to improve business practices.

     Presenter Tiffanie Z. Lyon, author of the highly successful book “Sales is Not a Dirty Word: The Inspirational Selling Guide for Non-traditional Salespeople,” will cover topics concerning sales-service culture, customer relations, and product/service value.

     Lyon, a professional speaker and sales expert, specializes in non-traditional sales and sales-service culture within organizations.

     Seminar classes and locations include:

     ▪ Thursday, May 14 – Mandeville, Southeastern St. Tammany Center, sponsored by the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation; 9-11 a.m.

     ▪ Wednesday, May 20 – Walker, Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center, sponsored by the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce; 9-11 a.m.

     ▪ Wednesday, May 27 – Amite, located at and sponsored by the Amite Chamber of Commerce; 9-11 a.m.

     ▪ Thursday, May 28 – Hammond, Small Business Development Center, sponsored by the Hammond Chamber of Commerce and the Hammond Downtown Development District; 5-7 p.m.
