SHERMAN SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTED TO SOUTHEASTERN GRADUATE -- Members of the Sherman family present the William F. Sherman, M.D. Memorial Scholarship to recent Southeastern Louisiana University graduate Lucas Harless of Baton Rouge. The Sherman family endowed the scholarship in memory of the late Dr. William Sherman of Ponchatoula, a 1971 Southeastern graduate, who was killed in an automobile accident in 1976. It supports students seeking careers in medicine. Pictured are, from left, Danny Acosta, retired Southeastern biological sciences professor and a friend of the Sherman family; Patty Niehaus, Judy Sherman, Hammond dentist Dr. Kenneth Sherman, Harless, and Adrianne Roques, Southeastern coordinator of donor relations. Lucas, who graduated with a degree in biochemistry and a minor in mathematics, will be enrolling in LSU School of Medicine in the fall.
