     HAMMONDBlaire Margaret Bolton of Baton Rouge received the Southeastern Louisiana University College of Business’s highest academic honor, the Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership, at the college’s annual honors convocation April 23.

     Bolton, who received her undergraduate degree in business management at Southeastern in 2007, is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree and is a graduate assistant in the College of Business dean’s office. She has been an active member and officer in Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.

     The college named Southeastern President John L. Crain as its 2009 Outstanding Alumnus. Crain received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southeastern, and during two decades served as a tenured accounting faculty member and department head, provost and vice president for academic affairs and interim president. He was named the university’s 14th president in February.

     The college presented its friendship award for international students to French graduate students Sabrina Blin and Aurelien Dartevelle and posthumously to Maxime Profit, who died in a tragic accident in March. The award has been renamed the “Maxime Profit International Friendship Award” in his honor.

     The college recognized inductees into the 13 Club and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies and presented departmental awards and scholarships to:
