GENERAL STUDIES AWARD RECIPIENTS -- Southeastern Louisiana University General Studies faculty member Ellen Bush, far left, congratulates award recipients at the division’s annual honors convocation on April 28.      HAMMONDSoutheastern Louisiana University’s Division of General Studies recognized Peggy Leonard and Renee Sandifer, both of Franklinton, with the Dean’s Award, the top honor given at its honors convocation held April 28.

     Leonard was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence in the general studies bachelor’s degree program, while Sandifer earned the honor for the associate degree program.

     Also at the annual recognition ceremony, the division’s Academic Awards for Excellence were presented to Cortney Robert of Luling (Undergraduate Sophomore Award), Joel Sessions of Muscle Shoals, Ala. (Undergraduate Junior Award), and Jeanne Villere of Slidell (Undergraduate Senior Award).

     Alex Roshto of Livingston received the Associate in General Studies Outstanding Graduate honor, while Josh Hymel of Hammond received the Bachelor of General Studies Outstanding Graduate award. H. Nikki Eames of Hammond received the division’s Award for Excellence and Service.

     The division also recognized students inducted into the 13 Club and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies and academic honor list students.
