Music Department sponsors recital with LSU guest artists

     HAMMOND - The Southeastern Louisiana University Department of Music and Dramatic Arts will sponsor a guest artist recital featuring four LSU musicians on Monday, Nov. 16, in the Ralph R. Pottle Music Building Auditorium.
     The free 7:30 p.m. recital will feature works by Sergie Prokofiev, Ernst von Dohnanyi and Johannes Brahms.
     Guest performers include Espen Lilleslatten, associate professor of violin, on the violin and viola; Renata Arado, violin; Dennis Parker, coordinator of string chamber music, on the cello, and Michael Gurt, professor and chair of the keyboard division, piano.
     Works to be performed include Prokofiev’s “Sonata for Two Violins in C Major, Op.56,” Dohnanyi’s “Serenade for String Trio,” and Brahms’ “Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 25,” also known as “Gypsy.”
     “We are pleased to be able to present our community with performances by these outstanding guest artists,” said David Evenson, head of the Department of Music and Performing Arts.
