Louisiana SBDC offers Social Networking Site Seminar

     HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University and Southeastern’s Division of Extended Studies will offer a seminar on using popular social networking sites to enhance business.  
     The one-day seminar, “Expanding Your Business with Social Media, will be held Friday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center in Hammond. The program will target the top three sites: Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In.  
     Topics for small businesses include tips on developing new leads, marketing to targeted prospects, and engaging and retaining clients. How-to demos, best practices and sample strategies will be shared in an interactive seminar setting. A 20-page take-home guide will provide participants with step-by-step instructions on activites presented in class.
     The cost is $100, and discounts are available for members of any northshore area chambers of commerce. 
     Michelle Cullison, a social media consultant who helps businesses and their leaders integrate social media into their overall strategic plan, is the instructor. She is the creator of the acclaimed “Social Media Boot Camp” seminar, the first of its kind in the greater New Orleans area. She is a sought-after keynote speaker for associations and business meetings and is the co-author of “Facebook Best Practices,” “Twitter Best Practices,” and author of “Lost in MySpace Parenting Guide.”
