HAMMOND - Monies raised at the annual Wade Speed Golf Tournament recently have helped fund a Southeastern Louisiana University scholarship established in memory of the late Southeastern alumnus and prominent Hammond businessman.
“Wade was a graduate of the College of Business,” said Dr. Kenneth Sherman, a close friend of Speed. “The purpose of the scholarship is to assist in the education of today’s business majors at Southeastern.”
Scholarship funds are awarded to graduates of either Hammond High School or St. Thomas Aquinas High School who declare a major within the College of Business, have 60 credit hours, and a 3.5 grade point average or better.
Contributions received this year funded scholarships to four Southeastern students - Danielle Galatas, Samantha Domiano, Nicollette Zumo and Tori Kast, all of Hammond..
