2009 SOUTHEASTERN HOMECOMING COURT – Seven Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2009 Homecoming court and will reign over Homecoming festivities, Oct. 12-17.      HAMMOND –
Fourteen Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2009 Homecoming queen and beau courts. The seven women and seven men will reign over Homecoming festivities Oct. 12-17.
     Chosen as members of the queen court were seniors Terica Anderson and Marjorie Parker of New Orleans, Molly Fenton of Houma, Angelle Harris of Boutte, Ashley Lemoine of Greenwell Springs; junior Jenee Ratelle of  Baton Rouge, and freshman Shelby Driscoll of Hammond. 
     Members of the beau court are seniors Anthony “A.J.” Calderone Jr. of Kentwood, Eric Lanell Davis of Baton Rouge, and Kirk Dixon of Harvey; juniors David Alan Cavell of Thibodaux and Brandon Odom of Baton Rouge; and sophomores Brett Farlow of Denham Springs and Casey Thomas of LaPlace.
     The 2009 Homecoming queen and beau, the top junior or senior vote-getters in the recent online campus election, will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming football game when the Lions take on Sam Houston State on Homecoming Day, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.
     The court also will participate in Homecoming festivities such as Gumbo Ya Ya on Oct. 14, the bonfire and pep rally on Oct. 15, and the 2 p.m. Homecoming Day parade.
     Anderson, a general studies major, is sweetheart of the Black Student Union (BSU). She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Gamma Beta Phi and has been on the President’s and Dean’s list every semester of her college career. She served as a university housing resident assistant in 2007.
     Parker is majoring in organizational communications. She is sweetheart of NAACP, a resident assistant, a member of the Ladies of the Green and Gold, Who’s Who Among American College Students, the Student Government International Affairs Chair, Leadership Southeastern 2008-09, and recipient of the Green S award.
     Fenton, an international business major, is sweetheart of the Student Government Association (SGA). She is president of Alpha Omicron Pi and SGA. She was named Greek Woman of the Year and Alpha Omicron Pi Woman of the Year in 2008. She is a Southeastern student ambassador, member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and serves on the Campus Auxiliary Service Board.
     Harris, a psychology major, is sweetheart and a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She is a member of SGA and the Project PULL peer mentoring program. She was named 2008-09 SGA Executive of the Year and received the 2008-09 Mentor of the Year Award.
     Lemoine, an organizational communication major, is sweetheart of Theta Xi fraternity. She is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, Sigma Alpha Lambda, Who’s Who Among College Students and is a President’s List student. She serves as a Southeastern student ambassador, was a 2008 orientation leader, and is the recipient of the Green S Award and Southeastern’s 13 Club.
     Ratelle is sweetheart and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. A marketing major, she is a member of Leadership Southeastern, Impact, the Excel Leadership program, and Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. She was named the 2009 Greek Woman of the Year and received the Leadership Foundation Scholarship and Ruby “A” Award from Alpha Omicron Pi.
     Driscoll is sweetheart of the freshman class. A biology major in pre-dentistry, she is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and a Lionette.
     A.J. Calderone, beau of Phi Mu sorority, is an industrial technology major. He is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and the Southeastern Rugby Club. He is an active volunteer for C.H.I.L. and is the treasurer for Kappa Sigma.
     Davis is majoring in health education and promotion and is beau and president of Omega Psi Phi fraternity. He is a senator for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and was the 2007 SGA director of educational outreach. He was also the recipient of a 2008 Green S Award and Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.
     Dixon, a design drafting major, is beau of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. He also serves as the SGA director of financial affairs and is a university housing resident assistant. He is a Green S award recipient and has been on the President’s and Dean’s Lists.
     Cavell is beau of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and is a business administration major. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, the Student Foundation board, the Excel Leadership program and SGA attorney general. He was the recipient of the Student Leadership Foundation scholarship and the Student Government Leadership Award.
     Odom, a kinesiology major, is beau of the NAACP. He is a member of the BSU, the Kinesiology Health Studies Club and is on the public relations committee of NAACP. He was also recognized as Resident Assistant of the Year and was a Dean’s List student in 2006.
     Farlow is a psychology major and beau of the sophomore class. He is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, the Student Foundation Board and Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. He is a President’s List student and has been honored as a Founding Father of Kappa Sigma.
     Thomas, a kinesiology major, is a member, president and beau of Theta Xi fraternity. He is a member of the Kinesiology Health Studies Club and an Interfraternity Council delegate. He was also nominated for Greek Man of the Year.
