HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s public radio station 90.9 KSLU marked its tribute to bluegrass music by airing the 100th episode Sunday (Sept. 6) of “The Bluegrass Hour,” a national program hosted by David Pericone.
The show featured special guests and music highlights collected from the past 99 shows. Over the years, the program has showcased scores of bluegrass legends including Rhonda Vincent, Charlie Daniels, Joe Bonsall, Todd Taylor and Eddie Adcock.
“Pericone’s enthusiasm for this American music genre brings in thousands of listeners from Hammond and  the surrounding communities, as well as a large contingent of online listeners who tune in from Japan and Germany each week,” said KSLU General Manager Todd Delaney. “It’s a testament to the research and professionalism that goes into the shows.”
“The Bluegrass Hour” airs Sunday afternoons from at 5 p.m. on KSLU 90.9 FM. People outside the broadcast range can listen online at kslu.org. For additional information, contact Delaney at 985-549-2230.
