Southeastern Ponchatoula Alumni Chapter plans Sept. 29 Presidential Reception

HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association Ponchatoula Chapter is hosting a reception Tuesday, Sept. 29, in honor of Southeastern’s 14th President John L. Crain. The event is scheduled for 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Le Fleur de Lis, 111 N 6th St. in Ponchatoula and is open to the public.
Crain, a Franklinton native and 22-year Southeastern veteran, was appointed to the presidency in February. He served as interim president from July 2008 until his appointment and as provost and vice president of academic affairs for six years. Crain is also a tenured faculty member and served as Faculty Senate president and head of the Department of Accounting.
Honorary hosts include Gwen Barsley, A.J. Bodker, Brenda Harris, Rachel Harris, Ricky Howes, Emily McKneely, Amber Narro, Steve Pugh, Noelle Vaughan, Pat Williams and Ponchatoula Mayor Bob Zabbia.
