HAMMOND -- The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern Louisiana University and regional partners are hosting the second in a series of brown bag networking seminars on April 26.
Held the fourth Monday of each month at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center on Martens Drive in Hammond, the series addresses topics related to business trends and the economy. Attendees bring their own lunch, and the LSBDC provides coffee, water and sodas.
“The topic for April is ‘Selling to the Government’ and will be presented by Cindy Carrier with Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center Southeast,” said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC. “The presentation will give practical pointers about what it takes to become a successful government contractor for federal, state and local agencies.”
Summers said topics include working with the federal government, contracting acronyms, required registrations, bid matching, reading and responding to bid leads and more.
The program begins with networking opportunities from 11:30 a.m. to noon, followed by the presentation and open discussion with dismissal at 1 p.m. Cost to attend the seminar is $5.
Since seating is guaranteed only to registered attendees, pre-registration is suggested.
The next seminar in the series is May 24, and the topic is business taxes.
