HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University has inducted 55 graduate and undergraduate students, faculty and alumni into its chapter of the prestigious national honor society, Phi Kappa Phi.
To be considered for membership in Phi Kappa Phi, a student must be in the top 10 percent of the senior or graduate class or a second-semester junior in the top 7.5 percent of his/her class. Perez, who serves as president of Southeastern’s Honors Club, also was recognized as the university’s Outstanding Honor Student.
The honors organization also presented its Lou Ballard Endowed Scholarship to Brooke and Bryce McLin of Port Allen. The identical twin sisters are both junior biology majors in the environmental, ecology and evolution concentration and work as supplemental instruction leaders in the university’s Center for Student Excellence.
