Trumpet Recital to raise funds for Haiti relief

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University alumnus David White of Baton Rouge will perform a trumpet recital at 7:30 p.m. on March 23 at the Pottle Music Auditorium.
Sponsored by the Southeastern Department of Music and Dramatic Arts, the recital has no formal admission charge but donations are asked to aid relief efforts in the earthquake stricken nation of Haiti. Southeastern’s honorary music fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, will assist in the fund raising effort.
Accompanied by Southeastern pianist Henry Jones and trombonist Doug Geiman, White will perform the Tartini Piccolo Trumpet Concerto, Honegger’s Intrada, Pastorale by Ewazen and the Hindemith Sonata.
White is a 2008 graduate of Southeastern with a bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance.
