Friends of Library concert to feature piano duo

     HAMMOND – The Friends of Sims Library and Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present Kenneth Boulton and JoAnne Barry in a duo-piano recital on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. in the Pottle Annex Recital Hall. 
     The program will include works by Bach, Vaughan Williams, Chaminade, Mussorgsky, Gliere, and Richard Strauss.
     For over 20 years, the husband and wife team of Kenneth Boulton and JoAnne Barry has presented both piano duet and duo concerts throughout the United States and Europe, as well as conducted numerous master classes and workshops about ensemble playing.     
     Dr. Boulton has been a member of the Southeastern faculty since 2003. His recording “Louisiana: A Pianist’s Journey” was nominated for a Grammy award in 2007. 
     Ms. Barry has degrees in both music and librarianship. Formerly archivist for the Philadelphia Orchestra, she is currently volunteering in the Sims Memorial Library’s cataloging department.
