HAMMOND – A comprehensive six-week series on entrepreneurship that was set to start Tuesday has been pushed back until Oct. 4.
The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern Louisiana University, along with the Louisiana Economic Development Council and other partners, will host “Write Your Own Check: Be an Entrepreneur,” at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center, 9261 Florida Blvd. in Walker. The series will meet on Tuesdays from 6 – 9 p.m. through Nov. 8.
Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC, said the program is intended to prepare participants for the critical business planning process and address the most common issues faced by startups.
“Topics during the series include the concepts involved with assessing a business idea; marketing a product or service; understanding business financials and how they work; and how to fund and finance the business,” Summers said.
The cost to attend all six classes is $120, and scholarships may be available to student (youth) entrepreneurs. An abundance of tools and resources, as well as food and beverages will be included.
For more information, contact LSBDC Southeastern at 225-664-6638 or lsbdc.slu@lsbdc.org. Online registration is available at www.selu.edu/sbdc.
