HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University will limit access to its main Hammond campus while closed for the annual holiday break.
The closure begins Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. and ends Jan. 3 at 6 a.m. Only essential personnel and students who are living on campus will be permitted access during the closure. The policy is to help ensure the safety of faculty, staff and students during the holiday break and to better safeguard university property, officials said.
Students will have access to their residence halls via SGA Drive at Virginia Avenue. A university police officer will be present at the location to ensure all persons with current parking permits have access to their residence halls.
Visitors without a current parking permit must present a valid form of identification and identify the student or employee they are visiting to proceed through the intersection.
Southeastern Oaks and the Village residence area will not be impacted by this closure.
Employees on campus during the closure must contact the University Police Department when they arrive and leave and keep their Southeastern identification on their person at all times while on campus.
Faculty and other individuals seeking access to campus must call the University Police Department at (985) 549-2222 to make arrangements. The University Police Department is open around the clock to assist with inquiries.
