HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Division of Extended Studies will offer a special events planning non-credit course at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center this spring.
Beginning April 4, the course will meet once a week for six weeks at the Walker center. Cost for the course is $180.
“This course will give students an accurate behind-the-scenes look at a career that is almost invisible,” said April Keehfuss, course instructor. “If you have ever been to a convention, wedding or an off-site business meeting, everything you saw, from the decorations to the folders, had to be created by someone. That someone is the event planner.
“Whether you are looking to plan a family reunion, an off-site meeting, or a giant product launch, this course will give you the necessary tools and insight into what you need to know to pull off a successful event,” Keehfus added.
To register or find out more information about this or other Extended Studies courses, visit www.selu.edu/es or call the Livingston Literacy and Technology Center at 225-665-3303.
