Southeastern LSBDC and partners to host women in business event

     HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern Louisiana University, along with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center and Women’s Business Enterprise Council South, will offer the seminar “Maximizing Your Woman-Owned Business Ownership in the Federal Government Marketplace.” 
     The seminar is scheduled Thursday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to noon in Walker at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center. 
     “Women business owners should seek to leverage the opportunities available through the federal government to drive revenue growth,” said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC. “This event will address critical areas that women business owners should address when competing in the federal government marketplace.”
     Summers said topics address women-owned business federal government contract set-asides; WOB certification process, recognition and opporunities, business continuity and risk management, developing effective responses to government proposals, and helpful hints on writing winning proposals.
