Free lean manufacturing overview offered by LSBDC in three area locations

     HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University will present a free lean manufacturing overview for area businesses in Walker, Mandeville and Hammond on March 22-23.
     The presentations are designed to provide an overview of concepts associated with lean manufacturing including benefits and how to get started.
     “Lean manufacturing can be applied to almost any business and is designed to improve production while reducing waste and associated costs,” explained Sandy Summers, LSBDC assistant director. “It also helps in developing and implementing long-term plans that can streamline operations for success.”
     Although no fees are required to attend, participants are requested to pre-register online at selu.edu/sbdc or call 985-549-3831.
     The schedule of presentations includes:
-- Tuesday, March 22, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center, Walker; co-sponsored by the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce and the Livingston Economic Development Foundation.
-- Wednesday, March 23, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Southeastern St. Tammany Center, 21454 Koop Drive, Mandeville; co-sponsored by the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation.
-- Wednesday, March 23, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., Southeast Louisiana Business Center, 1514 Martens Drive, Hammond; co-sponsored by the Hammond Chamber of Commerce, Hammond Area Economic and Industrial Development District and the Tangipahoa Economic Development Foundation.
