HAMMOND – Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University, has been selected as one of the “Northshore’s Finest” in conjunction with a recognition and fundraising event hosted by the Louisiana Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The event honors young professionals from the region who exemplify outstanding leadership qualities, are active in volunteer roles and have excelled in the business community. As part of their continued service to the local community, honorees are asked to participate in a fundraising campaign for CFF.
“Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system usually beginning in early childhood,” Summers said. “Advances continue to be made in treatment and in finding a cure, but financial support is needed now to keep up the momentum of this life-saving research.”
Individuals and businesses can contribute to the CF Foundation or get more information by contacting Summers by e-mail at Sandy.Summers@selu.edu or by visiting her Web site, www.cff.org/LWC/SandySummers. The fundraising continues through July 27.
