Southeastern student reports phone snatching near campus

     HAMMOND – A Southeastern Louisiana University student reported to University Police today that her iPhone was snatched from her hands while walking on North Magnolia Street near Cardinal Newman Hall.
     The student, who was not injured, reported she was talking on the phone at approximately 9:30 a.m. when a subject came up from behind her, grabbed the phone and ran in the direction of Holy Ghost Catholic School.
     A witness of the incident described the assailant as a thin black male about six feet tall and in his late teens or early 20s. He was described as wearing light color pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. No weapons were seen in the incident.
