Trumpet Recital scheduled at Southeastern

     HAMMOND – A trumpet recital by two Memphis area musicians will be held at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Pottle Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., Monday (Nov. 7).
     The guest artist recital is sponsored by the Southeastern Department of Fine and Performing Arts and is free and open to the public.
     Performers Kyle and Melissa Millsap will perform together on the pieces Quiet City by Aaron Copland and Concerto for Two trumpets by Francesco Manfredini.  They will appear separately on pieces by Stanley Friedman, Normal Dello Joio, and Theo Charlier.
     They will be accompanied by Southeastern piano performance major Zhaolei Xie.
     Kyle Millsap is visiting assistant professor of trumpet at the University of Memphis. His varied performing career ranges from orchestral and chamber music to jazz and commercial work. He has performed with such artists as The Temptations, Johnny Mathis and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. He also teachers at Murray State University.
     Melissa Millsap is a freelance trumpet player and teacher in Memphis. She has performed with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra, Memphis Repertory Orchestra and the Delta Symphony Orchestra. She is on the staff of the Second Conservatory of Music at Second Presbyterian Church.
