Public invited to National Library Week events at Sims Memorial Library

     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Sims Memorial Library is inviting the public to special events during this week's celebration of National Library Week.
     Beginning Sunday, April 14, through Friday, April 19, Sims Library and Baton Rouge Nursing Library patrons can enjoy a week of no fines during "Fine Free Week and Food Drive." By donating one nonperishable food item, late fees for overdue library books will be forgiven on the spot.
     On Monday, April 15, the library will celebrate "Readings at Sims Library." Participants will hear selections from original works by Southeastern's own and other local writers. Readings begin at 6:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be served.
     The library's annual book sale will be held in the lobby April 17 and 18 from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m.  A wide variety of hardcover and paperback books will be available at unbeatable prices. Transactions are cash only.
