Southeastern, Livingston Parish Library to host social media seminar

HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University
in cooperation with the Livingston Parish Library will host a seminar on social media
planning.
Titled "Time, Tools and Techniques for Your Social Media Plan," the free event
will be held April 17 at the main branch of the Livingston Parish Library, 20390 Iowa
Street in Livingston from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
"Participants in the seminar can learn how to turn social media sites like Facebook,
LinkedIn and Twitter into powerful business tools. In this introductory session, we
cover strategies and best practices for businesses to get the most out of their social
media activities," said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern Small
Business Development Center. "This class is designed for businesses that know utilizing
social media is a must in today's society."
The session will cover the following:
• time management tools to inspire social media use in an effective, efficient
way;
• the importance of analytics, how to read them and include them into social
media planning;
• how social media includes email marketing;
• and Constant Contact reporting tools and social media integration tools.
Summers said attendees will leave the session understanding how time, tools and
techniques all work together to build success in the social media scene.
