1) CRYSTAL GONZALEZ WINS 2014 MISS SOUTHEASTERN CROWN – Renee Picou, Miss Southeastern 2013, left, crowns Crystal Gonzalez of Hammond as she is named Miss Southeastern 2014 Saturday night (Nov. 2).

2) MISS SOUTHEASTERN 2014 WINNERS – A new Miss Southeastern was crowned Saturday night (Nov. 2) at the annual pageant. Award winners in the pageant included, from left, Hailee Webber second runner-up, Miss Southeastern 2014 Crystal Gonzalez, Jasmine Tate third runner-up, and Erin St. Pierre, first runner-up. Sponsored by Campus Activities Board, the pageant is affiliated with the Miss America pageant system.


HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University kinesiology major Crystal Gonzalez of Hammond has been chosen Miss Southeastern 2014.

Gonzalez received her crown from Miss Southeastern 2013 Renee' Picou of Livingston at the annual pageant Saturday (Nov. 2) at Southeastern's Pottle Music Building Auditorium. Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, the pageant is affiliated with the Miss America Pageant system.

A junior, Gonzalez also received the Interview Award, the Lifestyle and Fitness Award and the "People's Choice" Award.

First runner up was Erin St. Pierre, a senior kinesiology major from Larose. St. Pierre also received the Lifestyle and Fitness Award, GPA Award for highest cumulative grade point average with the most credit hours, and the Interview award.

Hailee Weber of Destrehan, a sophomore special education major, was second runner-up. Weber received the Evening Gown Award and the Talent Award.

Jasmine Tate of Mount Hermon, a junior communications major, was third runner-up and received the Miracle Maker Award. She tied with Kate Fussell, a junior sports management major from Covington, for the Miss Congeniality Award.

Gonzalez will advance to the Miss Louisiana pageant, which will be held in Monroe in June.
