Southeastern music concerts scheduled in New Orleans

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present two free concerts in the New Orleans area this month.

Scheduled for Nov. 13 at noon, the first concert is part of the Music at Midday Series at Newcomb College and features the Southeastern Student String Quartet with Associate Professor of Piano Henry Jones. Students featured in the concert are Constanta Lungu, violin; Sinae Baek, violin; Yuliya Vlasova, viola; and Eunsil Chom, cello.

The program includes "Piano Quartet in G Minor, Op. 57" by Dmitri Shostakovich and "Passacaglia in G Minor for Violin and Cello" by George Frideric Handel, arranged by Johan Halvorsen.

The concert will be repeated on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 5 p.m. as part of the Trinity Artist Series at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans.
