HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University's Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts will present the Ronnie Kole Trio to kick off its main stage season on Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Performing for one night only, jazz pianist Ronnie Kole is a class act and consummate performer who is popular in both his own country and overseas, said C. Roy Blackwood, interim director of the Columbia Theatre.

"A New Orleans-based musician, Ronnie Kole spends much time abroad in Europe and Asia, where his smooth sound and elegant persona lend themselves to refined venues and guest appearances with symphony orchestras," he said. "He is a piano man's piano man, admired by many top stars in the business, from Harry Connick Jr. to Allen Toussaint. He has received every conceivable award his adopted city has to offer, from a Lifetime Achievement Award to induction into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and has played for presidents and the Pope."

Tickets range from $26 - $34 and are available at the Columbia Theatre box office on Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. or by phone at (985) 543-4371. Patrons may also get tickets online at www.columbiatheatre.org.

All Southeastern faculty, retired faculty or university staff with ID may purchase one ticket for the Ronnie Kole Trio and receive one ticket at half price. Both tickets must be purchased in the same transaction at the Columbia box office. Contact the box office at 985-543-4371 for more information.
