Albertson's to host Southeastern Tailgate Kickoff Event Sept. 5

TAILGATE SHOPPING WITH ROOMIE – Roomie the Lion receives help from Southeastern Louisiana University Cheerleaders while shopping at Albertson's in Hammond for Southeastern tailgating gear for the upcoming football season. Albertson's will host its annual Lion Tailgating Kickoff event on Friday, Sept.5, at 5 p.m.
HAMMOND – To prepare tailgaters for Southeastern Louisiana University's home game against Southern Utah, Albertson's is hosting its annual Lion Tailgating Kickoff event on Friday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m.
The event is set the evening before the game on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.
"Come out to Albertson's and get your tailgating grub and gear for Saturday's home game," said Albertson's Manager Kevin Brunelle. "Come out and support our home team!"
The event will include presentations by Lion Head Football Coach Ron Roberts, student-athletes, the Spirit of the Southland Band, Roomie, cheerleaders and Lionettes.
Register to win one of two tailgating prize packs including ice chests, Lion folding chairs, men's and women's shirts, Conference Champion Lions cups, SLU tumblers, Coca-Cola, hamburgers, hotdogs, buns and even the ice and charcoal. Registrants must be present to win. The drawing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Also, Albertson's will provide free food to students who show their Southeastern IDs.
Throughout the football season, Albertson's is offering a 10 percent discount on groceries on Southeastern football game days to customers who wear Southeastern apparel when shopping. This applies to both home and away game days. As an added bonus, Brunelle stated that the 10 percent discount on groceries will also be offered during the Tailgating Kickoff event.
