HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University will host a free workshop on the System for Award Management (SAM) on Tuesday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Mandeville at the St. Tammany Administrative Complex, Building B, 21454 Koop Drive.

All contractors wishing to do business with most federal agencies are required to register in the SAM.

"The goal of this workshop is to walk participants through completion of their SAM registration. Participants can bring their laptops or work from computers provided," said Assistant Director of the SBDC Sandy Summers. "For those who were registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR), assistance will be provided in migrating their legacy CCR account. This is done by first creating an account. The registration must then be renewed and/or updated annually. It is very important that the information entered into SAM be accurate, detailed, current and complete."

Summers said this is important because individuals will be required to verify their email address, so they must be able to access their email account.

Since limited seating is available, preregistration is preferred. Only preregistered attendees are guaranteed seating.
