LSBDC and partners to host Google simulcast

HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University Small Business Development Center will partner with the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation and local Google photographer J.R. Portman to host a live simulcast from Google on Wednesday, May 21.

Scheduled in Mandeville at the St. Tammany Center, 21454 Koop Drive, the simulcast titled "Google Partners Connect: Growing Your Business Online" is scheduled from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

"This is a great opportunity to learn from Google experts about how to grow your business," said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Small Business Development Center. "Attendees will receive useful tips from Google industry experts to help small businesses succeed on the web and maximize their business online."

Summers said simulcast highlights and topics include the following:

•    Local search and the power of the Google Business Listing – Portman, the Northshore's Google photographer and digital marketing consultant, will discuss the importance of ensuring a correct business listing on Google and how to optimize a Google presence for local search.

•    Help for small businesses to succeed on the web – Arjan Dijk, author of "The Small Think Big Book," will share unique insight, inspirational stories and actionable ideas to help small businesses thrive in a cyber-connected marketplace.

•    Maximizing business online – Fred Vallaeys will examine how businesses can navigate online advertising and expand their online presence through smarter insights, leading to greater customer engagement with digital ads.

•    Working and winning with an agency – How small businesses should approach working with an agency, what resources the Google agency team provides, and the importance of working with an online professional will be discussed.
