Southeastern schedules sax recital Nov. 13

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Fine and Performing Arts will sponsor a saxophone recital at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Pottle Annex Recital Hall on campus.

Part of the department's Faculty Recital Series, the fee recital will feature Kimberly Gedde, saxophone instructor.

Gedde has performed with various ensembles including the Minneapolis Saxophone Quartet, Baton Rouge Symphony, Baton Rouge Little Theater and the LSU Wind Ensemble where she was principal saxophonist. She has also received awards in several performance competitions, including second place in the Midwest Regional Music Teachers National Association Chamber Music and Solo Competitions, third place at the Region V North American Saxophone Alliance Quartet Competition, winner of the Lawrence University Conservatory Commencement Competition and a two-time finalist in the LSU Concerto Competition.

Gedde holds doctorate in musical arts in saxophone performance from LSU and a masters of music degree in saxophone performance from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
