HAMMOND – A Southeastern Louisiana University military historian will present the Department of History and Political Science's annual Veterans Day lecture at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 11) in the Student Union Theatre.

Titled "The Greatest of Their Generation: D-Day Medal of Honors Winners," the presentation by Professor of History Harry Laver is free and open to the public.

A 2013 Fulbright Scholar, Laver has conducted considerable research on World War II and the D-Day invasion. For several years, he has led study abroad trips where students visit World War II sites such as Normandy and the World War I battlefields of northern France.

"Every year the Department of History and Political Science conducts an educational program on the occasion of Veterans Day," said William Robison, department head. "This year's lecture by Professor Laver promises to be informative, exciting and a true testimonial to the bravery of the American solider."
