HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern
Louisiana University is hosting a seminar on social media time savers on Wednesday,
July 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. Co-sponsored by the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation,
SCORE, and the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce, the seminar is free.
Originally scheduled at the St. Tammany Center, the seminar will now be held
at the David C. Treen Instructional Technology Center, located at 2024 Livingston
St. in Mandeville.
Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC, said the session
will help businesses save time and put the focus back on running their businesses
or organizations.
“Did you know that 43% of small businesses dedicate six or more hours per week
to social media,” she said. “While it’s important to engage for social visibility
and key connections online, we all want to do more in less time. Join us and learn
the latest time savers and best practices from Constant Contact authorized local expert
Kim Walker.”
Summers said participants will learn tips for saving up to 10 hours a week managing
social media; simple ways to find usable, relevant content for posts; how to integrate
social media into sales promotions and events; and best practices, business builders
and more. Candidates for this seminar include marketers, business owners, managers,
professional servicers, and nonprofit organizations.
“Anyone that needs to get more done in less time with social media would have
a vested interest in this session,” Summers said. “Although this session is suited
for beginners, participants should have a basic knowledge and understanding of social
media in general.”
There is no cost to attend the event; however, pre-registration is encouraged.
