LSBDC to hold seminar in Covington on holiday marketing

HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern
Louisiana University, with co-sponsors St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce, St. Tammany
Economic Development Foundation, and Northshore SCORE, will host a free seminar on
holiday marketing.
The seminar, titled “Make Your Holiday Marketing Rock!” will take place in Covington
on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the St. Tammany West Chamber Office located
at 610 Hollycrest Blvd. Kim Walker, owner of 5 Stones Media in Hammond, will lead
the seminar.
“The holidays present an enormous opportunity for businesses to succeed with
their own promotions during a time when customers are primed and ready to buy,” said
Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Small Business Development Center. “Attend
this seminar to find out how to successfully engage your audience in social media
to increase sales this season.”
Topics to be covered include ways to make promotions stand out in a crowded inbox;
creating an email campaign and editing a template; tracking results and what to do
with this information; email list building and increasing deliverability and open
rates; branding emails with logos, colors and photos; and creating content that people
want to receive and read.
Although there is no cost to attend, seating is only guaranteed for pre-registered
