LSBDC at Southeastern to host class on proposal preparation

HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana
University, along with the Livingston Economic Development Council, Louisiana PTAC,
and Dixie Business Center, will host a free program on writing successful government
proposals.
The class, “Preparing a Winning Proposal,” is scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 16, from
9 a.m. to noon at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center, located at
9261 Florida Blvd. in Walker.
Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern Small Business Development
Center, said topics to be covered include request for proposal (RFP) planning; the
elements of style; actions after submitting a proposal; and review and discussion
of an RFP.
Additional topics include how the government evaluates proposals; how awards
are determined; proposal preparation and what steps to follow; and proposal content,
including format, the written word, graphics and what to say and not say.
There is no cost to attend the event, but registration is preferred. For more
