HAMMOND – Registration for the spring session of Southeastern Louisiana University’s
Community Music School (CMS) is now open.
Students of all ages may participate in private lessons on various instruments
and voice. Opportunities for group instruction and chamber ensemble formation are
also available. Lessons begin on Monday, January 25.
Registration will remain open throughout the semester. Registrations received
after January 20 will have a $20 late registration fee added to the tuition fee. Due
to a sponsorship from First Guaranty Bank, CMS will once again offer a discounted
tuition to students who are on reduced or free lunch at their schools.
“We look forward to the spring 2016 semester, as well as the summer band camp
and workshops taking place at the end of June,” said CMS Director Jivka Duke. “We
are enthusiastic about hosting our first annual CMS Festival, which will be an exciting
opportunity for our students to showcase their achievements and to be awarded for
their talent and dedication. We also plan to continue our Hammond Farmers Market music
presence and to remain active in other community events.”
