HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) is holding
its first ever City Sampler on Thursday, August 18, as part of Traditions Week, a
series of events and activities for students beginning a new semester, to get to know
their peers and all that the university has to offer.
City Sampler will allow local businesses the opportunity to introduce their goods
and services to thousands of new and returning students. Participating businesses
are invited to set up a table from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the War Memorial Student Union
Breezeway, a very high foot traffic area located in the center of campus.
“The purpose of this event is to allow students who are not from the Hammond
area to get familiar with surrounding business,” said Nick Elliott, CAB Coordinator.
“We would love for as many businesses as possible to come out and join us so we can
show our new students all of the great businesses and opportunities we have right
here in Hammond and the surrounding community.”
Deadline to register is August 10. For registration costs and other information,
go to CAB’s webpage at southeastern.edu/admin/cab/citysampler/index.html.
