HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana
University, along with Northshore SCORE and the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce,
will host a free event in Covington designed to help businesses discover the value
of Facebook marketing.
The seminar, “Facebook Marketing for Business Success,” will be held on Tuesday,
July 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce in Covington
located at 610 Hollycrest Blvd. The featured speaker is Kim Walker of 5 Stones Media
in Hammond.
“This presentation is a guide for small businesses or nonprofit organizations
that have been using Facebook for social media marketing, but need some tips to take
them to an intermediate level,” said SBDC Assistant Director Sandy Summers. “The program
will illustrate the benefits of using Facebook and how other organizations are marketing
with it. It will also provide the most up-to-date information with tips on how to
tell if social media activity is working.”
Summers said other core concepts to be discussed include how to tell if Facebook
is right for a business; what kind of content to create and post; how to tell if content
is working; suggestions on what to do next; proper etiquette; and why social media
and email marketing must be used together.
There is no cost to attend; however, pre-registration is preferred.
