HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern
Louisiana University, with co-sponsors East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, St. Tammany
Economic Development Foundation and SCORE Northshore, will host a free seminar on
holiday marketing.
The seminar, titled “Make Your Holiday Marketing Rock!” will take place in Slidell
on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce,
located at 1808 Front Street. Kim Walker, owner of 5 Stones Media in Hammond, will
lead the seminar.
“The holidays present an enormous opportunity for businesses to succeed with
their own promotions during a time when customers are primed and ready to buy,” said
Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Small Business Development Center. “Attend
this seminar to find out how to successfully engage your audience in social media
to increase sales this season.”
Topics to be covered include ways to make promotions stand out in a crowded inbox;
creating an email campaign and editing a template; tracking results and what to do
with the information; email list building, and increasing deliverability and open
rates. The program will also focus on how email and social media marketing work together
to achieve goals; branding emails with logos, colors and photos; and creating content
that people want to receive and read.
Although there is no cost to attend, seating is only guaranteed for pre-registered
attendees. To register or for more information, call (985) 549-3831. Online registration
is also available at www.lsbdc.org.
