HAMMOND – An episode preview of ART21 “Art in the Twenty-First Century” Season 8 will
be shown on Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Contemporary
Art Gallery.
A panel discussion will follow the preview. The event is free and open to the
public.
ART21 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging audiences with contemporary
visual art, inspiring creative thinking, and educating a new generation about artists
working today. The program airs on the Public Broadcasting System, and each episode
reveals how artists engage the culture around them and how art allows viewers to see
the world in new ways.
According to Gallery Director Dale Newkirk, “ART21 is the only series on television
to focus extensively on contemporary artists’ work in their studios as they struggle
with solving the problems of art making in the 21st century.”
