     HAMMOND – Nearly 50 students at Southeastern Louisiana University were recently inducted into the university’s chapter of the prestigious national honor society, Phi Kappa Phi.
     Awards for outstanding junior students from Southeastern’s five academic colleges were presented to: Hayden S. Kimball, Morganza, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Brandon M. Richardson, Slidell, College of Business; Danielle M. Bourg, Marrero, College of Education; Callie M. Lambert, Meraux, College of Nursing and Health Sciences; and Daniela Raygadas Dominguez, Hammond, College of Science and Technology.
     Recognized with the Outstanding Freshman Award was Lauren Hebert of Ponchatoula, while Kevin Bokun of Walker was cited as the Outstanding Honor Student. The society’s Lou Ballard Endowed Scholarship was awarded to Pankaj Sherchan, a resident of Hammond.
     To be considered for membership in the organization, a student must be in the top 10 percent of their senior or graduate class or a second semester junior in the top 7.5 percent of his or her class.
