Science and Technology students honored at Southeastern

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology
recognized students for outstanding academic performance at the college’s honors convocation
held May 1.
Awards were presented to the following students (by residence):
East Baton Rouge Parish
Jonathan Beard of Baton Rouge, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Mathematics.
Jefferson Parish
Lindsay Pellhum of Harahan, Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in Engineering Technology;
Tyler Becker of Marrero, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Computer Science.
Livingston Parish
Preston Chaney, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Occupational Safety, Health, and
Environment; Kevin Bokun, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Biological Sciences. Both
are from Walker.
St. John the Baptist Parish
Kreig Chadwick of LaPlace, Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in Industrial Technology.
St. Tammany Parish
Hanady Aref of Mandeville, Outstanding Graduate Award in Industrial Technology – Associate’s
Degree.
Out of State:
Nigeria: Chibueze Onyeagusi, now residing in Beaverton, Ore., Outstanding Graduating Senior
in Chemistry.
Nepal: Nisha Lama, now residing Athens, Ga., Outstanding Graduating Senior in Physics.

1) SOUTHEASTERN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (E. Baton Rouge) -- Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology
honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation. Jonathan
Beard of Baton Rouge, right, was honored as the Outstanding Graduating Senior in Mathematics.
Congratulating him is Daniel McCarthy, dean of the College of Science and Technology.
2) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (East Jefferson) --
Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its
distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation. Lindsay Pellhum
of Harahan was recognized as the Outstanding Graduating Senior in Engineering Technology.
Congratulating her is Daniel McCarthy, dean of the College of Science and Technology.
3) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (Livingston) - Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology
honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation. Daniel
McCarthy, left, dean of the college, is shown with Preston Chaney, center, winner
of the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment,
and Kevin Bokun recipient of the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in Biological
Sciences. Both are from Walker.
4) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (Orleans) - Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology
honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation. Stephen
Cassingham, center, of New Orleans was recognized as the Outstanding Graduating Senior
in Mathematics. Pictured with him are Daniel McCarthy, dean of the College of Science
and Technology, and Professor of Mathematics Lucy Kabza.
5) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (St. John the Baptist) - Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and
Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation.

Aref of Mandeville was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate in Industrial Technology
