HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana
University will host a free class in Amite designed to help businesses understand
Facebook advertising.
Co-sponsored by the Amite Chamber of Commerce, Tangipahoa Parish Library and
Northshore SCORE, the class is scheduled Sept. 19, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., in the meeting
room of the Tangipahoa Parish Library in Amite, located at 204 NE Central Ave.
Titled “Facebook Advertising Basics,” the beginners’ class will feature Kim Walker
of 5 Stones Media in Hammond.
“Business marketers know that Facebook advertising is very likely a critical
piece of their marketing pie. But, it can be overwhelming and confusing,” said SBDC
Assistant Director Sandy Summers. “This workshop will give businesses the tools necessary
to get started.”
Summers said the class covers the differences between boosting posts, creating
custom audiences, the various types of ads, as well as how to set up and monitor ads.
“In this class, we will look at the different goals you might have for your Facebook
ads and how best to accomplish those goals,” Summers said. “If you’ve been interested
in Facebook advertising or maybe you’ve boosted some posts but want to dig in a little
further, then this class is for you.”
Attendees should feel proficient at managing a Facebook account before taking
the class, Summers added.
There is no cost to attend; however, pre-registration is preferred.
